Felting Workshops for Adults

Poppy

Join me for a relaxing afternoon in the studio as I guide you along each step to create a vibrant felted poppy. 

In this beginner friendly workshop, you'll learn to layer wool, silk, viscose, and other specialty fibres for a painterly effect. Then you'll felt those loose, fluffy fibres  and shape them into a flower. The process is truly magical!

You will leave with a beautiful piece of fibre art to wear in honour of Remembrance Day, complete with a pin to sew on at home once it dries overnight.

This project is a wonderful introduction to sculptural wet felting, and incorporates a bit of needle felting.

Wet Felted Vessels

Discover the magic of combining merino wool, silk, and other luxurious fibres to create a stunning, sculptural bowl! In this creative workshop, you will learn how to wet felt a 3D vessel using a flat resist. 

With an array of colours and textures to choose from, you can make your vessel entirely your own and bring home a completely unique, handcrafted fibre art piece.

*A note about the wet felting process: Be prepared for a truly hands-on experience! Wet felting is an active process that relies on plenty of elbow grease through repeated rolling and agitation. If you have any concerns about the physical nature of the process, I’m happy to chat more about what to expect.

 Working onto a wool sphere, you’ll learn how to use felting needles to apply wool and create your designs.

You’ll have a rich selection of colours to choose from, along with gentle guidance every step of the way. You can bring your own design ideas or pick from inspiration in the studio—I am here to help you bring whatever you choose to life.

Needle felting is a calming, meditative process—a wonderful way to relax and get into the holiday spirit.

Winter Sun

Celebrate the winter solstice by creating a vibrant, wet-felted art piece that captures the warmth of the returning sun.

This playful workshop offers step-by-step guidance in wet felting while giving you freedom to experiment with a rich array of colours and textures, blending merino wool with silk, viscose, and other fibre embellishments to bring your design to life. You'll finish your piece with a touch of stitching and beads to add a little sparkle. It is a wonderful way to spend a winter day, and you'll head home with your own one-of-a-kind creation.
