At Home in the Studio

Evergreen Studio is a sanctuary I have created for people to slow down, look closer, and engage with the artistic process. It is a welcoming, down-to-earth space where you can feel comfortable to explore, experiment, and find your own "artist’s lens."

The studio environment has always been a natural home for me. I grew up in my parents’ photography studio, and that creative background—which runs through both sides of my family—is a fundamental part of who I am. To me, art is what makes life feel vibrant and meaningful. I see this space as a way to share that heritage, making the act of creation feel accessible and familiar—like visiting an old friend rather than an institution.

In 2020, I began teaching in this current space, a dedicated home studio where students have the time and the quality materials they need to explore their own ideas. While my background spans many forms of visual art, music, and writing, my work currently focuses on the creative possibilities of soft fibres. I enjoy sharing the art of felting—from "painting" with wool to sculptural forms—as well as the vintage craft of spun cotton.

The studio is, above all, a place for connection. Beyond the techniques and materials, it is a space where community is built through the shared act of creating. It is a place where people gather to enjoy the process and learn something new each time they visit. My goal is for every student to leave the studio feeling relaxed and inspired, carrying with them new skills and the quiet confidence that comes from the joy of learning and creating.

I look forward to welcoming you into the studio.
